12.06.2017 - Restoration of Karloveské rameno river branch - documentary film

The Karloveské rameno river branch is one of the few free-flowing danubian river branches at the whole Slovak section of Danube and bypasses the island known as Sihoť - important source of drinking water. Along the whole river branch deposits and artificial embankments were removed, which had formed unnatural barriers within restoration. The stream flow rate of the river branch will increase by 94 days per year on average, which helps to improve the water regime, enables more efficient migration and reproduction of fish in the river branch and restores the original nesting and feeding habitats of several species of birds.
